Death Ships - New Book Out July
Currently on track for a July release of my next book: Death Ships. Cover design has been finalised and editing completed. The layout is underway including the insertion of 51 images.
Pre-release publicity has started and will include a video.
Lots of interest has been shown in the six big ships that are featured in the book: Bejapore, Shackamaxon, Wanata, Marco Polo, Ticonderoga and Bourneuf.
The story about the commissioning of these ships to transport emigrants to the colonies in 1852 is closely tied up with the discovery of gold in 1851, the subsequent rush to the goldfields, the use of Liverpool as the point of embarkation and the many diseases of Victorian England.
